Tarte Haul & Review

Tarte: Rainforest of the Sea Haul and Review

I wouldn’t really consider myself a “makeup geek”, but I definitely like an effective morning routine that evens my complexion! I occasionally experiment with lip colors and highlight (YASS), but really I’m a face mist and foundation freak! That’s why when I heard about Tarte’s new line “Rainforest Under the Sea” that has a focus on glowy and hydrating products – I was intrigued. Below are the products I bought – and what I think of each!

Water Foundation

20% of this foundation is water, making it blend seamlessly and feel like a light layer of moisturizer. I wasn’t really expecting a full coverage, but I wasn’t pleasantly surprised at how even my skin looks! It really covers well and even has SPF 15 (I wear the shade light-medium neutral btw)!

Double-Ended Foundation Brush

I’m such a fan of the Beauty Blender that I wasn’t expecting to want a foundation brush, but after watching this video on Sephora’s website – I needed it. I use the smaller end to stipple the product on my face for a super flawless finish! The bigger end is for blending, but I still use my Beauty Blender for that 🙂

Marine Boosting Mist

Ya’ll already know I’m a face mist freak (I have Mac Fix+, and CaudalieBeauty Elixir), so when I saw this I died. It’s described the same as Fix+, which is as a primer, setting spray, and refresher – but it’s so much better. It feels so fresh and smells so fruity!!!

Twinkle Lighting Palette

I’ve used setting powders and highlighters before, but having htem all together in one palette made it really easy to use on a busy morning. The center shade is the perfect setting powder for concealer (aka under my eyes, around my nose, the center of my chin and forehead). Then the left-hand shade is the most amazing highlighter wish a really champagne sparkly glow. My least-used shade is the right one… it’s a “bronzer” type shade for strobing, but I can never really see it when applied? Still worth it though!

Final Thoughts

With my obvious obsession in this line, I’ve been thinking of what other products I’d like to try. I love a neutral chapstick-esque lipstick, so the Drench Lip Splash sticks in Cabana Boy and Top Down are drool worthy! I also got the opportunity to try a sample of the Deep Dive Cleansing Oil and it feels super nice! I need to test it out on a day where I’m wearing a lot of makeup because it claims to be an amazing makeup remover! Currently I’m using the Philosophy’s Purity cleaner for that, but I’d love a less-expensive product! There’s also a really pretty eyeshadow palette, but that’s not really my style.
