A Feminine Look For The Not-So-Feminine

“Playing dress up begins at age 5 and never really ends.”

– Kate Spade

Like most small girls – I loved playing dress up. Something about getting to step in to someone else’s clothes just made me feel like a new person! As I grew older I would still have fun getting dressed up for special events, but getting excited about getting dressed wasn’t a daily occurrence.

It wasn’t until I left school that I realized that it didn’t matter what other people though, that I could dress up every day of the week. Despite my new-found confidence, it still felt too weird being in dresses/skirts an heels everyday. Today’s look really explores how I can feel girly and feminine, while not turning too “princess-y” (because let’s face it, that’s not really me).

I topped the look off with some summery sexy strappy heels to bring out that orange color and make the whole look more eye-catching (I was definitely feeling bold!). I think getting to mix something feminine with a structured black jacket and bold bright heels really gave me an opportunity to with my personal style, and for that I will always love this look!
