Pencil Skirt

After a long relaxing week in the Dominican Republic soaking up the sun and wearing nothing but swimsuits, I was excited to get home and rock something more structured and sophisticated. At the same time, after a week of casual dressing I wasn’t ready to throw myself into something super uncomfortable – so this cotton elastic band pencil skirt from Anthopologie was my answer!

I wanted to stay cool on this 80 degree day, so I just added this black lace cami I snagged at an H&M sale over holiday. It goes with everything, but it has zero stretch in it so it’s really difficult to take on and off :/

I fell for this skirt online long before it went on sale for the amazing lace-like detail! But the elastic striped waist makes it look like I’m wearing a belt, and adds a sporty edge to the hole look. Perfection.

In the summer months I don’t wear my heels that often, just because I’m already exerting so much effort in trying to stay cool that making it harder to walk isn’t really in my best interest, but I made an exception for these jaw-dropping Pigalle Christian Louboutin.
