The Midi Cut

I haven’t shared hair/beauty adventures yet, but you should know I ‘ve always loved cutting, styling, and dying it. Throughout my entire childhood I lived for having hair chopped off and because of that, I spent the majority of my school years with short hair. With my thick wavy texture that meant it was always puffy and frizzy, so when I made it to highschool I stopped cutting my hair (it was hard), and by the time I graduated I had hair down to the middle of my back.

Then in January I finally caved and did a little more than a trim, and cut about 2-3 inches off, which is the hair you’ve been seeing on my blog as of late. But yesterday I felt I was finally ready to dye over my blonde streak and go short again!

Inspiration 1

This cut was my favorite. I looked at a lot of medium cuts, but this one, featured on Byrdie, was a great post outlining how her stylist styled the look as well!

Inspiration 2

My color inspiration came from the one true brunette goddess : Kim K. Despite the fact that Kim and I would never be friends in real life, this girl has amazing locks! I also live her bangs here. I didn’t want to spend the money on highlights though, so my color has a little less dimension.

So with my photo library loaded and ready for my appointment i took a quick “before” pic for the ***memories*** As you can see my mismatched light brown/reddish situation was in need of some help, and well as my lack of shape!

I absolutely love it! I’m so excited to be back to short hair. I love washing it and I’ll miss my long braids, but I’m looking forward to learning how to style and wear it, and especially to watch my color fade over the next few days to it’s true shade. Thanks for reading! Look for the new hair in coming posts!
